Royal Birkdale Golf Club
: (6711 yards SSS 73) Venue of The Open Championships and considered by Nick Faldo "to be the finest links course in Britain" - an exhaustive test of power, skill and judgement.

Hesketh Golf Club:
(6478 yards SSS72) The senior club in the town and an exacting test of both amateurs and professionals. A seaside course with natural hazards. The best holes are those lying between the sandhills and the clubhouse, particularly the long 18th, one of the best finishing holes in golf.

Hillside Golf Club:
(6858 yards SSS74) A most picturesque course set into the high sandhills and widely acknowledged as possessing one of the finest tests of links golf. Its long holes are formidable but it can also boast of the most testing collection of par three holes in golf.

Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club: (6603 yards SSS73) This famous championship links, laid out by James Braid, is a true challenge to all categories of golfer. Seaside golf of the highest order includes a testing par three start and the famous Gumbley's bunker at the par five sixteenth.

Formby Golf Club:
(6571 yards SSS72) Set amongst a landscape of beautiful pine trees, providing a spectacular backdrop to an abundance of fascinating golf holes. A unique linksland course, the splendidly isolated fairways snake through mountainous sand dune, it is a great test of skill and stamina.

West Lancashire Golf Club Golf Club: (6756 yards SSS73) Among the chain of great golf courses that stretch between Liverpool and Southport. West Lancs is a typical links course with many very interesting and demanding holes.

Additional Courses: Southport Old Links is a popular nine-hole course whilst the Municipal Course attracts many enthusiasts. Formby Ladies' Golf Club, a beautiful and challenging course, welcomes all groups and special rates can be obtained for lady golfers. Two recent additions to the Southport area are Hurlston Hall and Formby Hall golf clubs. Other clubs in the immediate vicinity include Ormskirk, Penwortham and Dean Wood, all of which offer first-class parkland courses. Easily accessible are the famous Royal Lytham and Royal Liverpool Hoylake for those who prefer the challenge of other Open Championship Courses.

The Choice Is Yours! - But to guarantee your golfing requests, early booking is essential. Remember also that weekend and Bank Holiday golf is more expensive and not always available to visitors when club competitions are being played.
